Bio-Glass Recycled Countertops

Coverings, Etc has made a countertop material out of recycled, reformed glass bottles, Bio-Glass.  Interesting.

I still personally prefer the look and feel of Richlite, but will readily admit that these are more environmentally friendly than Richlite.  What I really want is for the granite craze to just die already.

Footstool/Chair Pairing

I just ordered this stool to pair with my Eames shell chair.  I have high hopes for this little guy.  Lots of black and white accents in that room, so that is not an issue.  And the stool's petite stature will hopefully let the chair shine in all its glory.  Photos of the newlyweds to follow later...

If I Only Had A Place To Put It...

I bet the wood is gorgeous up close.  My great grandmother had an entire bedroom set in that style--now at my parents' house.  I didn't have room for that one, either.  It's a little ironic, as I live in a 1927 house...yet 2 of the bedrooms aren't really large enough for beautiful bedroom sets from that era.

I have been getting a kick out of Unhappy Hipsters lately.  It basically pokes fun at modern interior design magazines (Or is it singular now, after the demise of Metropolitan Home?) and the style their photos tend towards.  Sterility has long been something I struggle with with ultra-modern interiors.  I admire lines, calm, and other people's ability to live clutter-free, but am challenged by the bleak nature of concrete floors and under-filled spaces.  So it's interesting that someone else has been able to express these or similar concerns in a funny way.

I LOVE the glass tile in this particular entry (image, sans snark, above).  However, I've seen 1x2 glass tile used EXACTLY that way at Logan Airport, and the Kenmore Square T stop.  So I wonder if I'd be comfortable in a dining area that has the same exact finish as the United arrivals terminal.   I don't think I would be.  My associations are too strong.
